ORIGIN house

Situated in Lenah Valley, this 1953 mid-century gem required a thoughtful reworking of the existing floor plan to transform the bathroom in to an ensuite. The main design intention was to create a space that felt like any other room in the house, warm and inviting, rather than a cold, clinical bathroom.

The green tiles are the hero of the space, laid vertically to accentuate the high ceilings, and the lack of storage throughout the home was addressed with the inclusion of a tall built-in cupboard, significantly enhancing functionality.

This project retains its original mid-century details while incorporating colour drenching and warm materials. The property was in original condition when purchased and currently under a full home renovation to give the remaining rooms the love they deserve. Our brief is to create a family home that embraces a contemporary lifestyle for a busy couple, blending the charm of the past with the needs of modern living.
