MEMORY HOUSE
Built in 1880 and situated on the edge of the bustling North Hobart strip with stunning Derwent River views, Memory House is a cherished family home with over 30 years of stories.
The initial phase of this renovation addressed an awkwardly shaped living space, prompting us to design bespoke joinery that seamlessly integrated to appear as though it was part of the furniture. The colour palette drew inspiration from the well-loved garden, bringing the vibrant hues of our island home indoors. Tasmanian art and furniture pieces were thoughtfully incorporated wherever possible, adding a local touch and clever space saving solutions. A significant highlight is the kitchen, designed to be a joy for the client who spends a lot of time here cooking and entertaining for family and friends. An open plan space connected to the entry, it had to be visually pleasing, leading to the choice of striking green cabinetry.
Currently, the home is under stage two construction, which includes the renovation of the bathroom, ensuite, three bedrooms, dining room, second lounge and laundry.
This evolving project embodies the essence of a true Tasmanian home, blending practicality with personality and creating a warm, inviting space for a family with a rich history and new beginnings.
